WATOTO PROJECT On Tuesday, May 17, 2011 Calvary Church hosted the Watoto Children's Choir from Kampala, Uganda. Little did we know how deeply we would be affected our congregation would be by the story of the Watoto Mission. Watoto Mission was founded in response to the overwhelming numbers of children orphaned by the African AIDS epidemic. The orphanage provides physical, medical, emotional, educational, and spiritual care for hundreds of children. You can read more by visiting their website. Following the concert the Calvary Church Missions Committee immediately voted to sponsor 3 children at Watoto. But their vision was even larger. Our goal is to raise the funds to build a house at the Watoto campus in Uganda that will be home to 8 orphans and their house mother. In the summer of 2013 a mission team of 15 Calvary members traveled to Uganda to visit Watoto and the team built the home. Contact Pastor Jeff to hear more about it.
